Brazil ranked the second largest consumer of ceramic tiles in the world(2009/7/30)
As we all know that Brazil is football country, and many well-known players from Brazil, at the same time, the field of ceramictiles is also very good in Brazil. In 2006, annual output reached 594million sqm, accounting for 7.7% of global output, second only to China, Spain, ranked third in the world, producing more than Italy.
Compared 2006 to 2005, Ceramic tiles annual production growth 4.6%, Brazil has become the third largest ceramic producer in the world. According to the Brazilian association of manufacturers of ceramictile (anfacer --- braziliantilemanufacturers association) forecast would grow by 10% in 2007 than 2006, annual output to reach 653million sqm.
Recent years, the Brazilian ceramictile industry in the ever-increasing investmen, production capacity in 2006 has 672 million square meters, in 2007 to 706 million sqm, expand production capacity increase 5%.
Ceramic Tile consumption in Brazil increased 10% in 2006 to reach 486 million sqm (accounting for 6.5% of global consumption in 2006 than the 10.0% growth in 2005), to become the second largest consumer of ceramictile, second only to China.
Brazil is also fourth largest exporter of ceramictiles,in 2005 after exports fell in 2005, Brazil has successfully maintained its export level of 114 million sqm. Brazilian ceramictiles in 2006 exports reached 430 million sqm(the average export price of 3.77 U.S. dollars / m2), exports in 2005 increased by 14.3% than in 2006.
Due to the fluctuations of U.S. economy and U.S. dollar exchange rate, Brazil's exports to the United States decline, 44million sqm down to 40 million sqm. Canada exports also declined, from 5million sqm to 4 million sqm, in spite of setbacks in the North American market, but the Brazilian ceramictiles market in South America while there is an upward trend.
