According to Customs statistics, in January-May 2009 the amount of China ceramic exports 2.81 billion U.S. dollars, compared with the same period dropped 3.39 %, exports continue to decline.
Art Ceramics exports gained, other species are slow-down in exports. January-May, the amount of construction ceramics export 1.016 billion U.S. dollars, up 0.75 %, the growth rate has slowed down considerably; sanitary ceramics exports 251 million U.S. dollars, up 15.14% reduction; art ceramic exports 315 million U.S. dollars, up 43.18% , an increase of close to record high; daily-use ceramic exports 649 million U.S. dollars, up 0.84 percent reduction; other types (including specialty) ceramics exports 579 million U.S. dollars, up 20.7 percent reduction.
From the export market, the January to May of traditional ceramic markets need to maintain the downward trend of rapid export growth in emerging markets. January to May, exports to the EU the amount of 535 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 19.04% of the total export value, fell 8.44 %; the amount of Japanese exports 145 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 5.15% of total exports, decreased 12.1 % year-on-year; exports to the United States the amount of 396 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 14.1 % of total export value, up 0.5%; of ASEAN exports 288 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 10.26% of the total export value, up 17.12 %; in the Middle East exports 429 million U.S. dollars, accounting for the total exports value of 15.26%, an increase of 28.78%; of African exports 219 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 7.8 % of total export value, up 24.66%.(by China Leiyuan, 2009/7/18)
