New tile ---- like iron sheets here(6/1/2010)

UGANDA Baati has introduced a new iron sheet brand called Roman Tile. The brand is designed to enhance roof beauty and durability.

The iron sheet has a similarity with the Roman Clay tiles in terms of shape and the multiplicity of colours. This product's advantage doesn't lie only in beauty of colours and shape, but it is also manufactured with technology that enables it have a longer life span, said the Samir Chaturvedi, the senior marketing manager.

The sheet has a glittering surface finish quoted with aluminium and zink alloy, protecting it from corrosion for a longer period than ordinary galvanized sheets.

It comes in 26 and 28 inch gauges cut in one to eight metres for domestic and industrial use.

Chaturvedi explained that since they pioneered the introduction of tile-like iron sheets in the local steel market, the brand had won customer confidence.

The firm won a gold award during the Presidential Exports Awards 2008 for being the best steel exporting company, which responded to value addition.

The company is owned by Safal Group with operations in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Africa, Angola, Malawi and Zambia.
