Ceramic industry should seize the "China-ASEAN Free Trade Area," a rare opportunity(2010/1/11)

When the New Year's bell will soon ring, a ring-cut good news in the ceramics industry, over the December 29, the Ministry of Commerce held a "China - ASEAN Free Trade Area into a" special press conference to announce the 2010 China and ASEAN free trade area will be fully completed. So far, the two sides have successively signed the "Agreement on Trade in Goods", "Agreement on Trade in Services" and "investment agreement.

Commerce Department officials also announced that from next January 1, China and six old ASEAN members, namely: Brunei, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore, there will be more than 90% of the products to implement zero tariffs. China's average tariff on ASEAN from the current 9.8% to 0.1%, six old members of ASEAN, China's average tariff from the current 12.8% to 0.6%. Four new members of ASEAN, namely Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar will also be met by 2015 90% of zero tariffs. In addition to trade in goods, the two sides level of opening up the services sector has further improved, investment policies and environment protection of the legal system, more stable and transparent.
